MELISSA HOLZMAN GOLDSTEIN After years of running, Melissa discovered a new edge in the physical and emotional intensity of Yoga. In serious study since 1996, Melissa trained intensively with Paul Jerard of AURA Martial Arts Wellness, Baron Baptiste, Beryl Bender Birch, Manju Jois, Seane Corn, Paul Grilley and Bryan Kest. Melissa is a Certified Yoga Teacher, holds a Specialist Certification in Pre/Post Natal instruction and is a certified IM=X Reformer Pilates instructor and AAAI/ISMA Mat Pilates instructor. She currently studies at several Philadelphia studios, practicing Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Bikram’s Yoga and frequently practices at studios in New York City and Washington DC. A graduate of Binghamton University and Temple University School of Law, Melissa used yoga to balance her other athletic activities and her day job as a securities and antitrust attorney. Hooked on yoga, Melissa decided to leave the legal profession and teach yoga full time. She has developed a unique style of teaching her students truly appreciate – melding the intense flowing movement of Vinyasa yoga with highly descriptive verbal instruction, constant encouragement and the sense of freedom to discover and practice yoga at one’s own pace and individual level. Melissa feels blessed to be able to bring her love of yoga to South Jersey where she lives with her husband and teeny yoginies, Sophie and Trey.

After having her third child, Abby gave up her stressful job as a commercial real estate lawyer and focused her efforts on her yoga practice as well as becoming trained and certified so that she could teach. Abby’s training includes a 108 hour Anusara Yoga Immersion Certification with Michelle Synnestvedt, a Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training at Kripalu with Shiva Rea, as well as Anusara Prenatal Teacher Training with Sue Elkind. Abby continues to develop her teaching style, using a combination of alignment techniques with the beauty of flow, by taking workshops with teachers who inspire her—David Williams, Simon Park and her favorite—Seane Corn and also by practicing yoga on a daily basis. TOULA CUCINOTTA Toula Cucinotta is a certified Vinyasa Teacher and a graduate of the Dhyana Yoga School of Yoga in Philadelphia, Pa. After discovering yoga over 10 years ago, Toula became increasingly more dedicated with each passing year. While discovering the cross training benefits of yoga as a runner, Toula’s devotion to yoga continued to blossom during her 2006 pregnancy. She realized that her peaceful and healthful pregnancy experience was due in large part to her practicing yoga. After her daughter’s birth, Toula further explored various styles of yoga. She found that Vinyasa Yoga concentrated not only on the yoga postures themselves but on the passage between the postures, breath and bandhas. Toula appreciates Vinyasa's ability to cleanse both the external and internal body through increased circulation. The diversity and philosophy of Vinyasa has provided Toula with a deepening respect that she enjoys sharing with her students. Her passion and energy promotes a safe and fun practice while prompting subtle alignment and relaxation cues for her students. In addition to still loving to run, Toula is a full-time student as well as a devoted wife and mother. |
